Study Shows That Omega 3 Helps Depression - Fish Oil Brightens Mood

Did you know that omega 3 helps depression? It's true; studies have shown that people who do not get enough omega-3 fatty acids may be at an increased risk to suffer from depression.

These essential fatty acids are vital to your cell membranes. They assist your nerve cells in signaling and communicating with each other. This is a crucial in maintaining good mental and physical health.

The human brain is made up of about 30% DHA, which is why it is so important to your mental state. As you can see, omega-3 helps depression, but you have to get enough omega-3 fish oils into your body to produce a significant result.

Several studies have found that people who suffer from depression, anxiety and excessive worrying have been shown to have low levels of omega-3 fatty acids and a high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats.

Studies have also shown that omega 3 helps depression almost as well as medication, such as Prozac. If you're thinking about going off your medication, I suggest that you talk with your doctor before you do anything.

There have been many reports of people that have started using omega-3 fatty acids and gradually stopped using medication. As I said above, you will want to consult with your doctor on the best solution for you.

The bottom line is that omega 3 helps depression significantly. Many people are not aware of the fact that they are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids. High-quality fish oil supplements can be tricky to find, but when you do your research and educate yourself on what works and what doesn't, you will have an easy time finding the best product for you.

I have been using nutritional supplements for many years, and it took me a little while to find the best omega-3 product, but once I did, the health benefits were well worth it.
